Kilham

Kilham is on an old Roman road that ran from York to Bridlington. Once considered the "King of the Wolds" and the "Capital of the Wolds", Kilham was historically a significant market town, even more prominent than nearby Driffield. It hosted annual fairs that were unrivaled in the region. Over time, as transportation methods evolved, particularly with the rise of canals, Driffield overtook Kilham in prominence, but the village retained its agricultural roots and close-knit community.
Kilham’s All Saints Church is a stunning Norman church with a commanding tower and an ornately carved doorway. One of its most unique features is its weathervane, which is shaped like a turkey.
Kilham’s Village Hall was opened in 1993 and hosts a wealth of community events and an outreach post office.
Kilham Playing Field is a 10 acre site, on Back Lane, which is constantly being improved and added to.
